Description: What will it be? Spring or more winter? No matter what this little critter decides, you can add some fun to this holiday re-watching the classic Bill Murray film, Groundhog Day, playing at the Logan Theatre.

Description: Meeting somewhere in the middle of the intoxicated choruses at Trader Todd’s karaoke bar and the muted B & B environs of the Old Chicago Inn is a members-only, 1920s-themed speakeasy that you’ve TOTALLY NEVER HEARD OF called Room 13. It’s a password-protected space that’s open on Fridays and Saturdays and requires proper attire (suit jacket, no jeans, tommy gun).

You’ll find the discreet alleyway entrance just to the left of the Old Chicago Inn on Sheffield and Belmont. Find the red-lit gate with the “RM-13” logo — it’ll be open starting at 8p. Knock on the door, and you’ll be greeted by the doorman Luke asking you for the ever-changing password. If you’re a hotel guest, you’ll receive an invite to the speakeasy. Room 13 is accessible to guests of the Old Chicago Inn, as well as Room 13 members. Reservations are required.

3. Lantern Celebration

Description: Celebrating its 6th year, Chicago’s citywide Chinese New Year Celebration returns February 2-17 with three weekends of cultural performances, colorful parades and special events to usher in the Year of the Pig. Join the Lantern Procession following the Chinese New Year Celebration at the Art Institute of Chicago through Millennium Park and Maggie Daley Park followed by New Year’s activities, including a lion dance, art making, and ice skating.

5. First Friday Series: MONEYGUN Pop-Up at Revival Food Hall

Description: Another month, another great bar popping up at Revival Food Hall as MONEYGUN takes over on February 1 from 5 PM – 9 PM. The beloved West Loop cocktail spot will pop up in the Loop for one night only, mixing up drinks from its menu of classic libations as D.J. Peter Crocespins vinyl. Visitors have the option to complement their cocktails with a variety of delicious food offerings from Revival Food Hall vendors such as Lito’s Empanadas, The Budlong and Furious Spoon which will all have extended hours until 8 PM.
