Aahhhhhh Summer!  So much fun this weekend in Chicago including these festivals, concerts, parties and even free admission to one of the best museum’s in the world!  Enjoy – the weather is going to be great and you deserve it!


1. Chicago Pride Parade

  • When:   June 30, 2019 at noon.
  • Where:  4400 N Broadway St, Chicago IL 60640.

Why this is fun:  Chicago’s LGBTQ community and its allies gather in Boystown to celebrate with a rainbow-colored parade that attracts over one million attendees. This year, the annual extravaganza celebrates 50 years with a commemorative theme: Stonewall 50: Millions of Moments of Pride. Head to the parade route early to grab a prime spot before the procession starts rolling down Halsted and Broadway between Montrose and Diversey.

2. Snoop Dog

  • When:  June 29, 2019, doors at 8:00 pm.
  • Where:  Concord Music Hall, 2047 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago IL 60647.

Why this is fun:  Don’t miss this epic American rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, media personality, entrepreneur, and actor appearing locally at the Concord Music Hall this weekend. His music career began in 1992 when he was discovered by Dr. Dre and featured on Dre’s solo debut, “Deep Cover”, and then on Dre’s solo debut album, The Chronic. He has since sold over 23 million albums in the United States and 35 million albums worldwide!

3. Free Days at the Field Museum

  • When:  June 26 thru 28, 2019 open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Where:  The Field Museum, 1400 S Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60605.

Why this is fun: If you’re an Illinois resident there are a handful of days throughout the year when admission is free at a handful of the city’s museums. But even out-of-towners have options too, there are a number of institutions that are free all day, every day such as the National Museum of Mexican Art or the Lincoln Park Zoo.

The Field Museum of Natural History (FMNH), also known as The Field Museum, is a natural history museum in Chicago, and is one of the largest such museums in the world. The museum maintains its status as a premier natural-history museum through the size and quality of its educational and scientific programs, as well as due to its extensive scientific-specimen and artifact collections.  Don’t miss!

4. 90’s Beach Party

  • When:  June 29, 2019 starts at 11:00 am.
  • Where:  North Avenue Beach, 1600 N Lake Shore Dr, Chicago IL 60611.

Why this is fun:  Ready to make your Summer hella tight?  Strap on your fanny pack and get ready for blasts from the past because the 90’s Beach Party is back! We’ll be throwing it down at Chicago’s most famous beach [North Avenue] doing Chicago’s most favorite thing – day drinking!

Take a trip back to the good ole days with our special 90’s guest DJ, nostalgic party games and the ultimate 90’s photo ops.

5. Chicago Mariachi Festival

  • When:  June 30, 2019 from 4:00 pm.
  • Where:  Millennium Park, 55 N Michigan Ave, Chicago IL 60601.

Why this is fun:  The Mariachi Heritage Foundation and the National Museum of Mexican Art welcome world-class mariachi ensembles to Pritzker Pavilion for a day of free performances (and dancing)—it’s the largest event of its kind in the United States. This year’s lineup includes Mexican singer Aida Cuevas, Chicago-based student ensemble Mariachi Herencia de México, Mexico City band Mariachi Juvenil Tecalitlan and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley outfit Mariachi Aztlán. Leave the booze at home for this one—there is no outside alcohol permitted at the Chicago Mariachi Festival.
