We’re back for year #4 of our annual hot dog eating contest/charity fundraiser/musical concert performance show with all proceeds going to benefit our friends at the Greater Chicago Food Depository!  Soothsayer Hot Sauce throws its annual hot dog eating contest at Crown Liquors, giving competitors seven minutes to devour as many sausages as possible.

Don’t feel like testing your skills as a speed eater? Just pay $7 and you’ll get access to an all-you-can-eat hot dog buffet (feel free to take your time). Biweekly Aon Summer Fireworks shows occur on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer, from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

4. Chicago Michelada Fest

  • When:  July 6 & 7, 2019 – daily from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm.
  • Where: Harrison Park, 1824 S Wood St, Chicago IL 60608.

Why this is fun:

The Chicago Michelada Festival honors one of the most ingenious beverages on the planet: Mexican beer combined with tomato juice, lime and spices, served in a salt-rimmed glass.

Vendors like Big Mich, Pinches Miches, Micheladas Los Mochis and Rancheladas will be serving the cocktail throughout this two-day event, accompanied by delicious food, live music and a beer pong tournament.

5. U.S. Soccer FIFA Women’s World Cup Finals Viewing Party

  • When:  July 7, 2019 from 8:00am.
  • Where:  Lincoln Park, near the Benjamin Franklin statue at 72 W LaSalle Dr, Chicago IL 60614.

Why this is fun: After winning 11 consecutive matches in the Women’s World Cup, the U.S. Women’s National Team is heading to the final game, where they’ll face off against either Sweden or the Netherlands. U.S. Soccer is hosting a public viewing party of the final game of the 2019 FIFA World Cup in Lincoln Park, inviting fans to come watch the broadcast of the match outdoors on a big screen.

There will be food, beverages and merchandise available for purchase and DJ Marie King will be spinning tunes before kick-off. While walk-ins will be accommodated, you can lock down a spot at the viewing party with an RSVP. The party takes place just south of Lincoln Park Zoo, near the Benjamin Franklin statue at 72 W LaSalle Drive.
